DIVE TESTS RULES

Hello, Divers! This is one of the new features we've added to Digital Dive, for your roleplaying convenience.

Have you ever had a character that you thought might be a good fit for Digital Dive, but weren't too sure on it? Did you ever with that you could just test run that character in this particular universe? Did you ever get to the samples in your application and wish "Augh! I wish I could just link to a previous roleplay thread for one of these samples!"?

Well, there is good news.

Now you can do all of those things! Welcome to the Tests Community, where you can test out a character that you might want to bring to the game!

Before you start posting here, though, let's lay down a few ground rules, shall we?

---

Here's how this community works:

1. Say you've got this character you wanna test run. You take their journal, join the comm, and you make a post in the test box. Now, there are two ways you can post:

  • Log Post: Your character is dropped into one the major cities in the Digital World: Tetha, Neon City, Axoryi, Asuka, etc. What do? For a log post, it is required that your character is in a fairly decently populated area, so that there is plenty of opportunity for others to come and interact with your character. It is preferred that all Log Posts are done in prose.

  • D-Comm Post: This is something akin to a journal entry. Your character makes an entry on the D-Comm network. For these posts, your character can be anywhere (within reason! please refer to the Digital World Atlas for places that can and can not be reached by Tamers), though it is highly encouraged to make a Comm post that will invoke conversation among other characters in the game, rather than posting that your character is in [this city] and needs help. In addition to being able to post this from just about anywhere in the Digital World, you have a few different formatting options for posting a journal entry:

    1. Text: Your character makes a text entry on the D-Comm network. It will show only text, and nothing else.

    2. Audio: Your character makes an audio entry on the D-Comm network. It will only have your character's voice, your character's partner's voice, and any background noises from where they are in that point in time.

    3. Video: Your character makes a video entry on the D-Comm network. It will show real-time audio and moving pictures!!!1111oneoneone, and will record your character and your character's partner as they are at that very moment, along with the background of wherever they are at that given point in time.

2. FOR CHARACTERS BEING TESTED: You are only allowed one post in the test community! If you make more than one with the same character (played by the same player), we will delete the second post! In addition, you're only allowed to choose one post type, either log style or d-comm style. This is in the interest of fairness.

In addition, characters being tested can not comment to any other posts other than their own. Again, this is in the interest of fairness. The moderators of Digital Dive reserve the right to delete or freeze comments from characters not already in the game that are commenting to posts other than the one that they are currently testing in.

3. FOR CHARACTERS ALREADY IN THE GAME: This is a community that thrives on helping test out potential new meat! Feel free to comment to any test post that is made in this community! However, as your character is already in the game, you do not need to make a test post. Therefore, you are not permitted to make one. If we see anyone who is already in the game making a test post, we reserve the right to delete your post. But yes, feel free to comment to any posts made by anyone testing in the comm! Interact with the newbies!

3. None of the posts in the test comm will become digital dive canon. This is only for the purpose of testing how your character will work in the Digital Dive universe. Don't worry, any relations your characters make in this community can be rebuilt fairly easily in-game!

4. Keep it clean. Please don't let your tests go over a PG-13 rating.

5. If you have a particularly wonderful thread going and you want to continue it outside of the initial post, please take it to your character journal. The testrun box has a purpose of testing out characters you might app/will be apping in the future, and is not to be used for anything too terribly long-running.

6. All rules of Digital Dive also apply to this community. Please follow them!

---

I know, that was a lot of TLDR, and there's going to be a bit more, but thank you for bearing with me. It's important that we know how to control ourselves here in this shiny new community! Now, here's how the comm will affect applications:

Should you decide to apply for a character tested in this community, you may replace one of your samples with their test comm post.

This means that if you made a log entry in here, you CAN link to your log entry in the test run box for the application, and vice versa for the D-Comm entry. However! You can only replace one. The other sample will have to be written out.

What we're looking for in these test posts, however, is how you play your character. If we think we (the applications moderators) don't have enough to go on, we will ask for you to write out an alternate sample so that we can get a better idea of how your character will be played in Digital Dive.

Finally, here's something we need for you guys to post at the beginning of every test run post:

Character Name: (self explanatory)
Character Series: (also self explanatory)
Tamer Class: (if you are apping in as a Soul, Matrix, or Xros Tamer, we would appreciate interaction with your digimon in the test post. disregard this if you're apping in as a Spirit Tamer.)
Post Type: (log post or d-comm post)
Player Name: (your name)

In addition, please use the following tags when creating a test post:

*log post
*d-comm post

And that's it! Easy, right?

Here, have a textarea for even more convenience. Have fun, guys!
