There were many kinds of jungles, and one of the most fearsome and awe inspiring was the concrete jungle. Neon City was a towering trembling, living breathing ecosystem just like the jungle or the forest or the mountains.

Slowly moving down the sidewalk Daring Do kept her eyes scanning and ears peeled. If she was really stuck in this new strange world with so many different creatures she was going to need information.

"Alright squeaky, which way to the nearest library?" She glanced over her shoulder at the little green monkey who say comfortably on her flank watching the world pass by with curiosity.

"I unno." His high pitched voice responded matter of factually. "I lived in the jungle before I met you."

Daring sighed and massaged her temple with a hoof. "Alright, no problem. We'll just...study the wildlife. Explore. See what we can find."

Part of the local wildlife of Neon City was one Lord Wolf O'Donnell. He was out and about today, searching for any small odd jobs he could do or new allies to meet. He had plans for the future but right now he had to build from the base up. If he wanted to rebuild his team, he'd need new strong members and the finances for it. Both those things he was currently lacking. He turned the corner and something caught his eye, a pony on the sidewalk with a monkey riding on her back.

"Well, that's something you don't see everyday." He walked towards the pony, his Strabimon following close behind him. "Hey there, little pony. Don't see many of your kind around here."

The seasoned explorer slowed her progress to a stop and glanced up at the Wolf "I don't know if I can say the same about yours since I just got here myself."

The monkey glanced over his shoulder at the newcomer before turning away again, apparently not terribly interested just yet.

"The name is Daring Do." A tip of her helmet respectfully.

Wolf returned the tip of her helmet with a nod of his own. "Nice to meet you Daring Do. Name's Wolf O'Donnell. This little guy here is Strabi." The digimon gave a two fingered salute when he was mentioned. "New to the digital world, huh? Looking for a place to stay?"

She couldn't believe her luck! Were people always this friendly? Or was this a con in the making? Either seemed plausible so she smiled "I'd be much obliged. I was hoping to find a library so I could learn about my surroundings but a base of operations to work from would be great." A pause "Ah but you see there's the issue of funds." Best to get that out of the way now in case this was a scam.

"Trust me, funds isn't an issue. There's a hotel in this city that lets people, and ponies, stay for free for a while. Gives you time to set up employment of some kind. And it isn't far from a light post, which you can use to get to the library."

"Wow!" She looked surprised, "Sounds like a great place. What's the catch?"

"No catch, some places are just like that." Her partner remarked relaxed.

"What?" She looked back over her shoulder, "Why didn't you say anything before?"

He shrugged without even looking at her and she rolled her eyes.

Wolf chuckled. "I see your partner is one of those types. Just a word to the wise, you're going to want to get along well with your partner. You need him to be able to defend yourself here. Without him, you're pretty much defenseless."
