Naota was walking along the streeth, the Kokuwamon that followed him everywhere close behind. He felt like the taser bug was his babysitter or something. He didn't need anyone there to protect him. What was the worse that could happen here? It wasn't like anything interesting was going to happen. He went to school, went back to the apartment, did his homework, watched TV, went to bed and repeated the same cycle day after day.

There was the occasional difference. He'd post on the network, someone else would post and he'd answer. Tiny deviations at most. Again, nothing horribly interesting. He hadn't even gotten his digimon to digivolve yet and he didn't care. What would happen anyway? It'd be different for a while and just turn back into the same bug-taser thing it always was. Nothing interesting would ever happen here for him. Just like it was back home.

Naota looked up when he heard her voice but didn't turn around. He looked back to the portrait before answering.

"No, nothing's wrong."

Haku frowned worriedly, setting a pan up to simmer while she moved in to the living room. She took a seat on the couch next to him, keeping her distance for the moment.

"You're not very close to your family, are you?"

Naota looked up at Haku and just stared for a moment. "What makes you think that?"

"Call it an intuition..." she said quietly, sighing and looking up at the entertainment center. A much smaller picture of a very large group was there.

"Or... you could call it experience..."

[hammerspace_head]

Naota followed her gaze up to the smaller picture and just stared at it. "You don't have to worry about me. It's nothing, really."

"But I'm so good at it," Haku said teasingly, giving Naota a playful nudge with her elbow.

"It's really nothing you need to worry about." Naota moved with the nudge but he didn't look at the Vocaloid. He continued to stare at the pictures for a moment longer before looking back to the toy in his hand.

"Hmn..." Haku hummed, "So... is it... people just don't usually worry about you and you're not used to it, or you feel bad when they worry about you?"

"That's not it. No one needs to worry about me. I'm fine."

"Why do you say that?"

[hammerspace_head]

"Because I can take care of myself."

[sakedrinking]

"Ne... that may be so, but..." Haku canted her head to the side a bit, watching him closely, "That doesn't mean people can't worry about you. That's what friends do. They worry about the people they care about, even if that person can take care of themselves..."
